1. What is your name? My name is Emily Garr.

2. Where are you from? I'm from North Carolina.

3. Where do you live now? Now I live in Cadiz.

4. How old are you? I'm 22 years old.

5. What did you study? I studied Business and Spanish.

6. Do you like working with children? I love working with children.

7. What can you tell us about your family? I have my mom, my dad, and two brothers. I have one younger brother, Colin, and one older brother, Ryan.

8. Do you like sports? Yes I enjoy football and football americano.

9. What can you tell us about the American lifestyle? In America we have bigger cars and we have a shorter lunch break than in Spain.

10. Are there many differences between Cadiz and your home in the United States? Not too many, North Carolina and Cadiz both have mountains and beach and similar weather.

11. What's your favorite food? My favorite food is Mexican fajitas.

12. Is this your first time in Spain? No, I studied in Madrid last year for five months.

13. Do you prefer American or Spanish food? I prefer American food because it is more of a mixture of food from different countries. My two favorite foods are Mexican food and Sushi.

14. What do you do in your free time? I enjoy running, reading, and spending time with my friends.

15. Do you like music? I like music a lot.

16. What kind of music do you like? I like many different types of music, both in English and in Spanish, but my favorite music is rock.

2. Where are you from? I am from West Palm Beach, in Sunny FLA, Florida, one hour north of Miami. The ocean is absolutely beautiful where I am from.

3. Where do you live now? Now I live on the beach in the new part of Cádiz.

4. How old are you? I am 22, my birthday is March 6.

5. What did you study? I went to Boston College and double majored in Theology and Political Science.

6. Do you like working with children? Of course I like working with children!

7. What can you tell us about your family? I have a younger sister that is 19 years old and goes to the honors college of Florida, New College. My Dad works in a private club that has one of the best restaurants in South Florida. My mom is an amazing teacher and has taught many different subjects. She also bakes delicious cakes! I have a lot of cousins and I am the oldest of 17 on my mother´s side.

8. Do you like sports? I love playing sports. In high school I played American Football, Basketball, Baseball, Swimming, and Track. Now my favorite activities are snorkeling and Frisbee.

9. What can you tell us about the American lifestyle? It is fast paced and stressful at times. Work hard, play hard.

10. Are there many differences between Cadiz and your home in the United States? There are a lot of differences, but also a lot of similarities. They both have a beautiful beach, have popular seasons, and a lot of old people.

11. What's your favorite food? My favorite food is anything that my mom cooks, but I am pretty good cook too.

12. Is this your first time in Spain? I visited Spain four years ago while I was backpacking through Europe after high school.

13. Do you prefer American or Spanish food? I really enjoy Spanish food because I love olive oil, but I think we have more options in America.

14. What do you do in your free time? In my free time I read, study Spanish, listen to music, exercise, and cook.

15. Do you like music? I love music, my favorite band in the world is the Kings of Leon.

16. What kind of music do you like? I like many types of music, my favorite music might be soul and R&B from the late 1960s early 1970s.

Me llamo Emily y soy la auxiliar de conversión este año en el colegio Tierno Galvan. Soy de Carolina del Norte de los Estados Unidos. Estoy muy emocionada por trabajar con los niños y con los profesores. Espero que todos vayan a aprender un montón de inglés con mi ayuda y la de James. Me gradué en la universidad de Carolina del Norte el mes de mayo pasado. Estudié empresariales y español. El año pasado viví en Madrid cinco meses para estudiar. En mi tiempo libre me gusta escuchar música, bailar, ir a la playa y correr.

CAPERUCITA ROJA	THE LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD
Había una vez una niñita en un pueblo, la más bonita que jamás se hubiera visto; su madre estaba enloquecida con ella y su abuela mucho más todavía. Esta buena mujer le había mandado hacer una caperucita roja y le sentaba tan bien que todos la llamaban Caperucita Roja.	Once upon a time there lived in a certain village a little country girl, the prettiest creature who was ever seen. Her mother was excessively fond of her; and her grandmother doted on her still more. This good woman had a little red riding hood made for her. It suited the girl so extremely well that everybody called her Little Red Riding Hood.
Un día su madre, habiendo cocinado unas tortas, le dijo:	One day her mother, having made some cakes, said to her:
"Anda a ver cómo está tu abuela, pues me dicen que ha estado enferma; llévale una torta y este tarrito de mantequilla"	"Go, my dear, and see how your grandmother is doing, for I hear she has been very ill. Take her a cake, and this little pot of butter."
Caperucita Roja partió en seguida a ver a su abuela que vivía en otro pueblo.	Little Red Riding Hood set out immediately to go to her grandmother, who lived in another village.
Al pasar por un bosque, se encontró con el compadre lobo, que tuvo muchas ganas de comérsela, pero no se atrevió porque unos leñadores andaban por ahí cerca. Él le preguntó a dónde iba. La pobre niña, que no sabía que era peligroso detenerse a hablar con un lobo, le dijo:	As she was going through the wood, she met with a wolf, who had a very great mind to eat her up, but he dared not, because of some woodcutters working nearby in the forest. He asked her where she was going. The poor child, who did not know that it was dangerous to stay and talk to a wolf, said to him:
"Voy a ver a mi abuela, y le llevo una torta y un tarrito de mantequilla que mi madre le envía"	"I am going to see my grandmother and carry her a cake and a little pot of butter from my mother"
“¿Vive muy lejos?” -le dijo el lobo.	"Does she live far off?" said the wolf
"¡Oh, sí!" -dijo Caperucita Roja-"más allá del molino que se ve allá lejos, en la primera casita del pueblo"	"Oh I say," answered Little Red Riding Hood; "it is beyond that mill you see there, at the first house in the village."
"Pues bien dijo el lobo, yo también quiero ir a verla; yo iré por este camino, y tú por aquél, y veremos quién llega primero"	"Well," said the wolf, "and I'll go and see her too. I'll go this way and go you that, and we shall see who will be there first"
El lobo partió corriendo a toda velocidad por el camino que era más corto y la niña se fue por el más largo entreteniéndose en coger avellanas, en correr tras las mariposas y en hacer ramos con las florecillas que encontraba.	The wolf ran as fast as he could, taking the shortest path, and the little girl took a roundabout way, entertaining herself by gathering nuts, running after butterflies, and gathering bouquets of little flowers.
Poco tardó el lobo en llegar a casa de la abuela; golpea: Toc, toc.	It was not long before the wolf arrived at the old woman's house. He knocked at the door: tap, tap.
"¿Quién es?"	"Who's there?"
"Es su nieta, Caperucita Roja" ,dijo el lobo, disfrazando la voz-, le traigo una torta y un tarrito de mantequilla que mi madre le envía"	"Your grandchild, Little Red Riding Hood," replied the wolf, counterfeiting her voice; "who has brought you a cake and a little pot of butter sent you by mother"
La cándida abuela, que estaba en cama porque no se sentía bien, le gritó:	The good grandmother, who was in bed, because she was somewhat ill, cried out,
“Tira de la aldaba y el cerrojo caerá”	"Pull the bobbin, and the latch will go up."
El lobo tiró de la aldaba, y la puerta se abrió. Se abalanzó sobre la buena mujer y la devoró en un santiamén, pues hacía más de tres días que no comía.	The wolf pulled the bobbin, and the door opened, and then he immediately fell upon the good woman and ate her up in a moment, for it been more than three days since he had eaten.
En seguida cerró la puerta y fue a acostarse en el lecho de la abuela, esperando a Caperucita Roja quien, un rato después, llegó a golpear la puerta: Toc, toc.	He then shut the door and got into the grandmother's bed, expecting Little Red Riding Hood, who came some time afterwards and knocked at the door: tap, tap.
"¿Quién es?"	"Who's there?"
Caperucita Roja, al oír la ronca voz del lobo, primero se asustó, pero creyendo que su abuela estaba resfriada, contestó:	Little Red Riding Hood, hearing the big voice of the wolf, was at first afraid; but believing her grandmother had a cold and was hoarse, answered:
"Es su nieta, Caperucita Roja, le traigo una torta y un tarrito de mantequilla que mi madre le envía"	"It is your grandchild Little Red Riding Hood, who has brought you a cake and a little pot of butter mother sends you"
El lobo le gritó, suavizando un poco la voz:	The wolf cried out to her, softening his voice as much as he could:
"Tira de la aldaba y el cerrojo caerá"	"Pull the bobbin, and the latch will go up"
Caperucita Roja tiró de la aldaba y la puerta se abrió. Viéndola entrar, el lobo le dijo, mientras se escondía en la cama bajo la ropa:	Little Red Riding Hood pulled the bobbin, and the door opened. The wolf, seeing her come in, said to her, hiding himself under the bedclothes:
"Deja la torta y el tarrito de mantequilla en la repisa y ven a acostarte conmigo"	"Put the cake and the little pot of butter upon the stool, and come get into bed with me"
Caperucita Roja se desviste y se mete a la cama y quedó muy asombrada al ver la forma de su abuela en camisa de dormir. Ella le dijo:	Little Red Riding Hood took off her clothes and got into bed. She was greatly amazed to see how her grandmother looked in her nightclothes, and said to her:
"Abuela, ¡qué brazos tan grandes tiene!"	"Grandmother, what big arms you have!"
"Es para abrazarte mejor, hija mía"	"All the better to hug you with, my dear"
"Abuela, ¡qué piernas tan grandes tiene!"	"Grandmother, what big legs you have!"

Thanksgiving es una fiesta estadounidense, que aquí es conocida como la fiesta de acción de gracias.
El día de acción de gracias se come pavo y pure.
En nuestro colegio hicimos un ejercicio donde haciamos un pavo con la palma de nuestra mano izquierda, en el pulgar poniamos el pico, los ojos, y en los demás dedos haciamos plumas donde poniamos a lo que dabamos las gracias.

Auxiliares de conversación
Es una iniciativa de la Junta de Andalucía desarrollar e impulsar acciones que favorezcan el conocimiento de idiomas extranjeros en la sociedad andaluza, mediante el “Plan de Fomento del Plurilingüismo”, en especial con los centros bilingües, ofertando plazas de colaboración a estudiantes u otro personal extranjero. Los Auxiliares de conversación son estudiantes extranjeros acogidos al Programa Erasmus u otros similares de movilidad internacional. Funciones: Apoyo a la labor docente del profesorado de las Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas y de los Centros Bilingües, muy especialmente a los profesores que imparta áreas no lingüísticas en otros idiomas, facilitando la práctica de conversación, colaborando en la búsqueda, selección y creación de materiales didácticos y siendo vehículo de transmisión cultural para el alumnado de los centros. . Mientras los alumnos escuchaban tenian que rellenar unos
huecos que faltaban para completar la cancion.
